Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

This position involves providing specialized instruction for elementary students who are deaf or hard of hearing, focusing on effective communication through American Sign Language and educational support tailored to their needs.

Location: Oneida, WI
Work Type: Onsite contract position
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: Immediate start through May 29, 2026

Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction and support to elementary students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Utilize American Sign Language and other communication methods to facilitate learning.
• Collaborate with educators and staff to develop and implement individualized educational plans.
• Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
• Assist with reading, writing, and mathematics instruction as part of students' educational development.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of two years of post-secondary education equivalent to 48 semester hours from an accredited institution, or
• An associate degree or higher, or
• Demonstrated proficiency in instructing foundational academic skills through formal state or local academic assessment.
• Valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Educational Interpreter License.

Additional Information:

• This role primarily supports elementary-level students with a diverse caseload throughout the day.
• Candidates must be comfortable working onsite in Oneida, WI.
