Paralegal (Entry Level) - Remote The Paralegal (Entry Level) position will assist attorneys with complex civil litigation documents and workflow procedures. Essential Functions Review documents in a custom built database in order to extract information and input the same into the database Maintain measured workflow expectations May be responsible for preparing travel and check request documents May be responsible for updating various S&J office lists and logs May be responsible for keeping all vendor information up to date May be responsible for coding and sending all A/P invoices to DC office for payment May assist with keeping inventory and orders of all office forms (taxi vouchers, messenger and overnight delivery - UPS, Federal Express, and Overnight Express) Assists Administrative Attorney with maintenance of all administrative files May learn MMSEA filing requirements, executive quarterly filing, and update database Medicare fields as needed Research and resolve issues with invoicing Non-Essential Functions Completes other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualification Facility with computer applications Customer Service Communication skills Four year degree Success Factors Excellent attention to detail skills. Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment in carrying out responsibilities of the job. Working knowledge (hands-on) of Microsoft Office Applications (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel) and must remain current on all S&J software where it affects the responsibilities of the position. Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and projects and complete them under time constraints. Demonstrated strong writing and editing skills. Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate with a diverse group of clients, attorneys, staff and vendors, and to provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact, while safeguarding confidentiality Work Environment Non-smoking environment. Must be able to work under tight deadlines and in stressful situations. Available to work 9:00am - 5:30pm Monday through Friday. Position will be primarily remote after initial training in Washington, D.C. office. Compensation and Benefits The anticipated base salary range for this position is $40,000. The actual base salary offered will be dependent upon the applicant's experience and qualifications, as well as other job-related factors, including but not limited to, relevant skills, education, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, geographic location.
