What You’ll Be Doing As a Detailer / Programmer, you’ll play a critical role in the success of fabrication and installation projects by delivering precise, professional drawings that keep projects moving efficiently. Create accurate, complete, and detailed shop drawings for fabrication and installation Collaborate with project managers, estimators, leadership, and field teams to ensure drawings meet project requirements Attend project coordination meetings and proactively address detailing needs Visit jobsites to take accurate field measurements prior to producing shop drawings Review subcontract scopes and alert project managers to potential change orders Resolve technical issues and communicate clearly with project managers or clients for clarification Support continuous improvement initiatives , including future automation and process enhancements Future Growth & Technology This company is planning future expansion into automated fabrication equipment and advanced programming workflows to improve efficiency and precision. Required Experience & Education High School Diploma or GED 3+ years of CAD software experience 3+ years of detailing experience in structural steel and/or miscellaneous metals Willingness to learn new technology and automation systems This position is primarily based in a professional office setting , with occasional jobsite visits.
