Email Marketing Specialist

Ducks Unlimited, a leading conservation organization, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Email Marketing Specialist to support the execution and growth of our email marketing program. This role focuses on hands-on email deployment, content coordination, and performance monitoring while working closely with internal teams and external agency partners who support analytics and lifecycle strategy.

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys building and optimizing campaigns and wants to grow into a more strategic lifecycle marketing role over time. We are seeking a creative and data-aware professional with 13 years of experience in email or digital marketing who is eager to learn and grow within a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Email Execution & Deployment
    • Build, QA, and deploy email campaigns, newsletters, and lifecycle communications
    • Ensure emails are accurate, on-brand, and delivered on schedule
    • Maintain consistency across devices, inbox providers, and templates
  • Performance Monitoring & Optimization Support
    • Review campaign performance using established dashboards and reports
    • Monitor key metrics such as opens, clicks, engagement, and conversions
    • Implement testing and optimization recommendations from internal leadership and agency partners
    • Identify and flag performance trends or anomalies for further analysis
  • Email Calendar & Schedule Coordination
    • Manage the email marketing calendar and campaign timelines
    • Work closely with internal stakeholders to align messaging across campaigns
    • Communicate requirements, deadlines, and updates to cross-functional teams
  • Newsletter & Campaign Content Support
    • Collaborate with content and creative teams to develop compelling email messaging
    • Ensure alignment with Ducks Unlimited's mission, brand voice, and audience expectations
    • Support layout and structural improvements to enhance readability and engagement
  • Template Management & Technical Support
    • Customize and maintain email templates using drag-and-drop editors and reusable components
    • Troubleshoot minor rendering or formatting issues across devices and inboxes
    • Help ensure templates remain optimized and reusable across campaigns
  • Data Awareness & Continuous Improvement
    • Review digital marketing performance data and apply insights to improve execution
    • Contribute to and support email acquisition and list growth initiatives, playing a key role in expanding Ducks Unlimited's subscriber base over time
    • Stay informed on email marketing trends, tools, and best practices
    • Support ongoing testing and optimization initiatives within the email channel
  • Agency Collaboration & Strategic Development
    • Partner closely with external agency teams supporting analytics and lifecycle strategy
    • Implement lifecycle and optimization recommendations within email platforms
    • Provide execution feedback and operational insights to support strategic initiatives
    • Develop an understanding of lifecycle marketing concepts and campaign optimization over time
  • Organization & Process Management
    • Maintain organized documentation of campaigns, templates, and schedules
    • Use office and collaboration tools to manage assets and workflows efficiently
    • Support continuous improvement of internal email processes and documentation

Requirements

  • Experience:
    • 1-3 years of experience in email marketing, digital marketing, or related roles
  • Analytical Skills:
    • Comfort reviewing marketing performance metrics and applying insights to improve execution
    • Ability to identify trends and support optimization efforts
  • Technical Skills:
    • Experience using email service providers or marketing automation platforms
    • Familiarity with HTML for email customization and troubleshooting is a plus, but not required
    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and collaborative tools
  • Creativity:
    • Strong attention to detail with an eye for layout, readability, and brand consistency
    • Ability to collaborate on content that resonates with target audiences
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Ability to work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners
    • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and grow within a fast-paced environment
