Full-Time

A Teacher of the Deaf is responsible to the County Superintendent and works under the direct supervision of the designated manager(s).

Requirements / Qualifications

* Must possess the required level of education in order to obtain the appropriate authorization from the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) for the position.

*Must possess an appropriate California teaching credential with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing authorization, Communication Handicapped or the ability to obtain alternative certification.

*Must posses or have the ability to obtain English Learner Authorization.

*Possess documentation of American Sign Language Proficiency Interview (ASLPI)/Sign Language Proficiency Interview minimum score of 4.0 or equivalent assessment.

* If hired, must provide proof of a valid California driver's license.

  • Copy of Transcript (Proof of Bachelor's degree)

  • Credential Copy (California Teaching Credential with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Authorization, Communication Handicapped or the ability to obtain alternative certification.)

  • English Learner Authorization (Proof of or have the ability to obtain English Learners Authorization)

  • Letter of Introduction

  • Letter(s) of Recommendation (Two Letters of Recommendation are required-each letter must be dated and have a signature)

  • Resume

  • Test Results/Materials (ASLPI/Sign Language Proficiency Interview score 4.0)
