Sporting Goods Sales Associate

Play It Again Sports is a locally owned franchise with a unique retail environment where we buy, sell and trade new and used sporting goods equipment. Play It Again Sports is THE neighborhood sporting goods store that consistently provides great value in new and used sports and fitness equipment, with exceptional customer service in a clean and fun environment.

Sales Associate Major Areas Of Responsibility

1. Greet customers immediately, determine their needs, and handle all transactions in a professional and enthusiastic manner
2. Become familiar with sporting goods products, brands, and prices and make recommendations of products, including their features and benefits, to suit customers' needs
3. Maximize sales and customer satisfaction by adding items to the close of the sale
4. Buy used sporting goods product, reinforcing the customers' purchases and sales to the store
5. Price and ticket sporting goods items based on pricing and buying guidelines
6. Restock store following merchandising plan
7. Maintain store displays and follow store housekeeping and maintenance standards and procedures
8. Develop proficiency in operating computerized Point of Sale (POS) and sales tracking system

Sales Associate Qualifications

• Prior sporting goods retail experience preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
• Ability to work well as a team member, accept constructive feedback, and follow directions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Sales Associate Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours a day
• Lifting up to 40 lbs. without assistance
• Bending, rotating, and reaching customary to a sporting goods retail environment
