Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for the 2025-2026 school year in Fenton, MI, focusing primarily on resource room and self-contained classroom settings. This full-time, onsite position serves students with diverse learning needs, including early learning through K-12. The role requires working in an urban district environment, supporting caseloads of up to 22 students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students with learning disabilities and other special education needs.
  • Manage mostly self-contained classrooms or resource room settings.
  • Adapt teaching strategies to individual student needs, with considerations for Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitively Impaired (CI), and Learning Disabilities (LD).
  • Collaborate with school staff and families to support student success.
  • Remain knowledgeable about Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education (MARSE) and related IDEA federal regulations.
  • Participate in remote interviews and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan Teacher Certificate with a Learning Disabilities endorsement; preferred endorsements include Emotional Impairment (EI), Cognitively Impaired (CI), and MDE endorsement ZA (Early Childhood).
  • Experience working in urban schools or similar environments.
  • Familiarity with special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Ability to manage a caseload of diverse learners effectively.
  • University transcripts and Michigan teaching certificate verification required before placement.

Location: Fenton, MI (also considering additional areas such as Grand Blanc, Lansing, and Detroit).
