About the Role

We have the opportunity available to join the National Public Health Service (NPHS) Business Services Directorate, within the Purchasing and Contracting team as a Senior Advisor. This is a permanent full-time role.

In this role you will support and provide technical advice on the end-to-end procurement and contractual arrangements within National Public Health Service (NPHS). The role is expected to become a subject matter expert on systems, processes, and templates to drive nationally consistent procurement and contract practices at NPHS. Additionally, the role will be responsible for pulling, analysing, and reporting on procurement and contract data to inform stakeholders, committees and decision-makers on the status and progress of projects and contracts.

About You

As a Senior Advisor, you are confident working in a fast-paced environment and getting'stuck in' with a range of work. You have the ability to draw on relevant longer-term experience specific to the job and work demands. You have proven experience in an advisory role, applying critical thinking and using sound judgement to develop options and provide advice.

• A relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent experience (e.g. Finance, or Business)
• Experience in procurement, purchasing and contracting, including providing advice and analysis
• Understanding and experience working with databases/registers, financial spreadsheets
• Experience with developing and managing excel spreadsheets and using it to inform analysis and advice
• Strong analytical skills combined with an ability to quickly assimilate new information, and to write and talk about complex issues clearly and concisely with a range of audiences
• Is approachable with a collegial attitude and desire to work with others to achieve results and share knowledge and expertise to support the growth of the team
