Responsibilities A Controller operates and controls remote pipeline systems through a SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system in the Remote-Operations Control Center. Controllers work a 12-hour Modified DuPont rotating shift schedule which includes nights, weekends and holidays. As a DOT safety-sensitive position, operating pipeline systems requires skill, dedication, and a commitment to safety and efficiency. Controllers must successfully complete a rigorous training program that includes extensive hands‑on experience, guided by an assigned Controller Trainer and a Console Supervisor. The Controller will train on the position of Controller through a progressive training curriculum that includes normal daylight hours and the rotating shift schedule.
