Job Posting: Phlebotomist - Short-Term Contract

Location: Patchogue, NY

Duration: 8 weeks

Shift: Mid Shift, 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM, 5x8 schedule (flexibility and alternating weekends required)

Orientation: 12 hours (non-billable)
Job Description:

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is is seeking a skilled Phlebotomist with inpatient experience to join our laboratory team on a short-term contract. This role is ideal for certified phlebotomists who can provide accurate and efficient blood collection services while supporting patient care in a hospital setting.
Key Responsibilities:

• Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection according to hospital policies and procedures
• Follow infection control and safety protocols strictly
• Accurately label and document specimens
• Communicate effectively with patients to ensure comfort and cooperation
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Adhere to 1199 union rules and hospital guidelines for short-term assignments

Qualifications:

• Phlebotomy certification required
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient experience
• Ability to work mid-shift 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM with alternating weekends
• Knowledge of safety and infection control protocols
• Excellent communication and patient interaction skills
• COVID-19 and flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
