Job Description

Connect Staffing is hiring a Forklift & Inventory Clerk in Houston, TX, to support warehouse operations for a leading renewable energy company. This role involves operating forklifts, managing inventory, receiving and shipping materials, and ensuring accurate warehouse records.

Pay range: $18.00

Shift: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Location: Houston, TX 

Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

Environment: Warehouse and indoor storage areas; some lifting and material handling required

Overtime: Available as needed

Minimum Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as a warehouse associate, forklift operator, or inventory clerk within the last 5 years.
• Certified forklift operator (or willingness to become certified).
• Experience managing, counting, and tracking inventory using software systems or spreadsheets.
• Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, and stand for extended periods.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of warehouse, logistics, or inventory control experience.
• Experience with shipping and receiving operations.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or RF scanning technology.
• Knowledge of safety practices, including OSHA standards and proper material handling.

Preferred prior experience: Warehouse Associate, Inventory Clerk, Forklift Operator, Shipping & Receiving Clerk, Material Handler, Warehouse Technician.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move, load, and unload materials.
• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
• Pick, pack, and stage orders for shipment.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct cycle counts or full physical inventories.
• Label and organize materials in warehouse storage areas.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
• Communicate with supervisors and team members regarding inventory discrepancies, damaged items, or workflow updates.

Pre-Employment Requirements

• Authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer (E-Verify hiring site).
• Pass a background check.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and work in warehouse conditions.
• No visa/legal sponsorship available.
