What to Expect Tesla is looking for a highly motivated Fire Alarm System Designer to join the Fire Alarm Design team in Austin, Texas. The Gigafactory design team drives to create the factory of the future by overseeing the design of cutting‑edge large‑scale equipment and utility systems in support of highly innovative manufacturing processes and datacenters. What You'll Do Produce code compliant fire detection and alarm system design drawings and submittal packages within the limits of design philosophy, specifications, costs, and schedule Collaborate with other design disciplines, construction management teams, external consultants, contractors, fabricators, regulatory agencies, and other vendors to meet overall project objectives Produce floor plans, one‑line diagrams, riser diagrams, details and calculations Participate in all project phases, including conceptual designs, presentations, schematic design, design development, construction documents and production Perform regular field installation reviews and document deficiencies with corrective action Incorporate as‑built drawings into record documents and verify code compliance What You'll Bring Degree in Drafting Technology or related field with a minimum 4 years of experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Revitzo required, or industry equivalent experience with minimum 5 years of experience in design/drafting fire detection and alarm systems NICET Level II for Fire alarm required Clear understanding and working knowledge of International Building Code, International Fire Code, International Mechanical Code and applicable NFPA standards (NFPA 70, NFPA 72 are required; understanding of additional applicable codes are a plus) Detailed understanding of fire alarm system components, system architecture, and configuration required Ability to read and review drawings from and coordinate with other disciplines to avoid clashes and ensure systems are installed in accordance with all applicable codes Fire alarm license or ability to obtain required licenses, APS, within 6 months of hire Work with the Fire Protection Engineer to prepare project fire alarm specifications Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full‑time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family‑building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High‑Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short‑term and long‑term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back‑up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program #J-18808-Ljbffr Tesla Motors, Inc.
