The Center for Jewish Philanthropy seeks an Event Planner The Center for Jewish Philanthropy (CJP) is seeking a highly organized, creative, and collaborative Event Planner to lead the planning and execution of all organizational events. This position plays a key role in creating meaningful experiences that strengthen donor relationships, deepen community engagement, and advance the mission of CJP. The Event Planner will work closely with the Philanthropy and Engagement teams to ensure events align with organizational goals, fundraising strategies, stewardship efforts, and community priorities. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, relationship‑driven, and thrives in a fast‑paced nonprofit environment. Key Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and execute all CJP events including campaign and donor events, community programs, stewardship gatherings, and special initiatives. Develop event timelines, production schedules, run‑of‑show documents, and logistics plans. Select and manage all vendors and vendor contracts before, during and after events. Oversee on‑site event execution and troubleshoot issues in real time. Work collaboratively with Philanthropy and Engagement teams to create events that support fundraising, donor stewardship, and community engagement goals. Participate in cross‑department planning meetings and contribute strategic event ideas including recommendations for relationship building and pipelining during the event and post‑event follow‑up and next steps. Coordinate with leadership, staff, volunteers, vendors, and community partners, translating stakeholder and committee feedback into successful event outcomes. Develop and manage event budgets and track expenses. Ensure events are executed efficiently and within budget parameters. Research sites and locations for events and manage RFP process including contract negotiations with agents, featured entertainment, venue locations, caterers and other outside vendors. Marketing & Communications Coordination Collaborate with communications and marketing staff on invitations, promotional materials, social media content, event messaging, and post‑event communications. Assist with event registration systems and attendee communications. Evaluation & Administration Track attendance, event metrics, and participant feedback. Prepare post‑event reports and recommendations for future improvements. Maintain organized event files, calendars, and planning documents. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience. 3–5 years of event planning experience, preferably in a nonprofit or community‑based organization. Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. Experience working collaboratively across teams and departments. Self‑starter, ability to work independently with minimal day‑to‑day supervision. Proficiency with event management platforms, Microsoft Office, and CRM/database systems.
