Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education in Pulaski, WI. This contract position involves working onsite with elementary students, providing specialized instruction designed to support their unique learning needs throughout the day.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering tailored educational support and interpreting services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers and support staff to integrate American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods into daily lessons.
  • Assessing student progress and adapting instructional strategies to ensure effective learning outcomes.
  • Managing a caseload of elementary students with varying needs related to hearing loss.
  • Maintaining compliance with state educational standards and licensing requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of at least two years of post-secondary education equivalent to 48 semester hours from an accredited institution, OR an associate or higher degree.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in assisting with reading, writing, and mathematics instruction, or readiness skills appropriate for elementary students.
  • Possession of a valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Educational Interpreter License.
  • Experience or certification in American Sign Language and working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

This role is a full-time, 37.5-hour per week position, running from ASAP through May 29, 2026. The position is onsite, allowing direct interaction with students and staff.
