Thompson Staffing is looking for a 100-Ton Licensed Boat Captain for a company located in Miami, FL. Boat captain will be responsible for the safe navigation, operation, and management of vessels up to 100 gross tons. This role includes ensuring passenger and crew safety, complying with maritime laws and regulations, maintaining the vessel, and delivering professional service during commercial, charter, or private operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate and navigate vessels up to 100 gross tons
• Ensure compliance with all U.S. Coast Guard, federal, state, and local maritime regulations
• Maintain responsibility for passenger, crew, and vessel safety at all times
• Conduct pre-departure safety checks and vessel inspections
• Monitor weather conditions and adjust routes as needed
• Operate navigation, communication, and safety equipment
• Maintain accurate logs, reports, and required documentation
• Supervise crew members and assign duties as necessary
• Provide safety briefings and instructions to passengers
• Perform basic vessel maintenance and coordinate repairs
• Respond appropriately to emergencies, including medical or mechanical issues
• Deliver professional customer service during charters or tours

Required Qualifications

• Valid U.S. Coast Guard 100-Ton Master License
• Current TWIC card
• Valid First Aid and CPR certification
• Strong knowledge of navigation rules, seamanship, and safety procedures
• Ability to operate GPS, radar, VHF radio, and other marine electronics
• Physical ability to work in marine environments and varying weather conditions
