Grand Opening Event Organization
With a very tight deadline, ekc was tasked to organize the Grand Opening of Kinokuniya’s Austin retail opening to take place over a two day period. The events lasted between five and eight hours per day both indoors and outdoors simultaneously. Ekc’s mission was to reflect Kinokuniya’s eclectic assortment of goods, and desire to become the main hub in Austin for Japanese culture through meetings at their “Japanese styled school room” inside the store.
Ekc located, negotiated with and booked local talent and suppliers including author Sarah Bird, live sound and rental by Nomad Sound, photographers, guest speakers, city council officials, and other VIPs in the Asian community for a hugely successful Grand Opening.
